  TIMAMOON
HALF MOON

Half Moon

Timamoon is a gorgeous sexy hideaway set high up in the hills and surrounded by forests and close to the Kruger Park & Blyderiver Canyon. Each of the luxurious Moroccan and Zanzibar style lodges are romantic and private, with mosquito net draped four-poster beds, large fireplaces and baths to float away in. From your private pool, there are endless views of the distant mountains and the valley where the Sabie River flows and Longcrested eagles ride the afternoon thermals

Superb food is served by renowned chefs in a exotic candle-lit restaurant built on stilts alongside a small pond and overlooking a tropical garden. Dinners end in the cigar lounge with its own magical ambience. Everyone should experience a few tropical nights at Timamoon at least once in their lives.

AT A GLANCE

  • exclusive luxury
  • Moroccan-styled bathroom
  • favourite with honeymooners
  • own rim flow pool

Accommodation: - Tucked away under the trees in a luscious tropical garden with views of the forest and the banana plantation, this secluded lodge is charming.

There is the sun deck to spend a lazy warm morning after breakfast and a balcony shaded by a large Avocado tree to hide from the heat of the day.

A large pebble fireplace, rock shower, a colourful beaded curtain from Indonesia, and a pigmy bed from Central Africa are just some of the collection that add to the flair of Half Moon.

We regret no children under 16 years old allowed.

Activities: - There are lots of walks at Timamoon where one can spot rare trees, exotic birds (watch out for the elusive Narina Trogon), buck and other small creatures of Africa.

Take a walk down to the Sabie River with a picnic basket, specially prepared for you by the Chef and sit in the shade along the bank and watch the bouncy Wagtails jumping from rock to rock.

For a relaxing experience, order an aromatic full body massage which is done in the privacy of your lodge.

  • Horse Riding - Horse riding in the forest bordering Timamoon. (Highly Recommended)
  • Hot Air Balloon - For the more energetic there is the Hot air Balloon ride over the lovely Sabie River valley. The Balloon flight takes place in the very early morning and is a gentle romantic way of looking down on the earth. The flight lasts about one hour and ends where the wind has taken you.
  • River Rafting - River rafting daily subject to availability. Start 09:00 or 10:00, depending on daily arrangements. Start off with briefing, then onto the river. Snacks and drinks are served en route. Finish at around 12:30, transfer back to launch site where guests have parked their cars.
  • Bird watching - Birds such as the Lilac Brested Roller, Narina Trogon, Purple Crested Loerie, Knysna Loerie, Woodlands Kingfisher and over a hundred other birds have been spotted and recorded by our guests.
  • Attractions - Close to the Kruger Park, God's Window, Pilgrim's Rest and the Blyde River Canyon.
  • Half Day Abseiling - Spend an exciting afternoon abseiling a rock outcrop
  • Quad Bike Trails - Guided trails lead through scenic bush areas of the Sabie River Valley
  • Kruger National Park - The Kruger National Park is only a 30 minute drive from Timamoon Lodge and encompasses nearly two million hectares. The park is well worth exploring on your own or an open vehicle safari can be booked at reception.
